The CTiW 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, 19th January at 6pm and will be kindly hosted by Hinde Street Methodist Church, 19 Thayer Street, W1U 2QJ.
Following a social time with refreshments, at 7pm there will be a talk entitled “From Strangers to Neighbours: Christian Hospitality in a Changing Asylum Landscape” given by George Lapshynov.
Drawing on Theos’s recent report From Strangers to Neighbours: The Church and the Integration of Refugees, George Lapshynov explores how UK churches are quietly but powerfully helping asylum seekers become neighbours. The talk sets recent shifts in asylum policy alongside Christ’s call to welcome the stranger. And through stories from congregations across the country, it highlights both the pressures churches face and the practices that work, inviting Christian communities to embody hopeful, relational integration in an increasingly precarious asylum system.
