“Meet the Neighbours” St Mary le Strand, WC2R 1ES
This event was held from 6-8pm on Monday, 13th April 2015.
All were welcome to join us for a visit to this beautiful and richly decorated Queen Anne church, designed by James Gibbs.
The event commenced with said Evensong from the Anglican Book of Common Prayer, followed by talks about the history and ministry of the parish, recent developments, and plans for the future.
Next, smaller groups were given tours of the building (including some parts which visitors do not usually reach).
The evening concluded with refreshments – wine, soft drinks and things to nibble – with people leaving by 8.00 pm at the latest.

There is no on-site parking. The church is served by many bus routes to the Aldwych. The nearest Underground station is Temple, but Covent Garden and Holborn are not far away. The church is located in the middle of the Strand opposite King’s College, but should not be confused with St Clement Danes. There is not complete disabled access, so anyone with special needs should contact the church in advance (together with likely time of arrival).
